The first and by far the most important rule in the dojo is safety. When we throw our partners, we protect. When our 'uke' taps, we release!

Benevolence is to be charitable. It can be shown through actions, words, or attitudes. Helping others is a great way to be benevolent!

'Don't be afraid' — WRONG!
Courage means that you may be afraid, but you still complete the task at hand.

To honor is to show others the respect they deserve. This is respect that every person, animal, or object should receive

Justice
Justice can take many different forms, but in our daily lives, it means to treat everyone fairly, protect the innocent, and always be true to yourself.

Loyalty
Being faithful or committed to a person, an organization, or a group shows loyalty. This can even mean following the 7 codes of Bushido!

Politeness
Regardless of the situation, one should provide respect and overall good manners as a display of politeness. This includes good ettiquete and kind words

Veracity
Veracity literally means being truthful.
Although it may not always be easy, being truthful is the key to many difficult decisions in life. Being truthful, or showing veracity to yourself, is one of the hardest things a person can do for themselves.

Discipline
Discipline is using all of your willpower to follow rules, listen, respect, and show honor towards anything. Being disciplined is not always easy, but it is essential for every Martial Artist.
